Preface

BROM BelCal is a PHP based content management system, which is specifically for the management of reservations of apartments suitable. It is characterized by simple operation. Through the use of templates, the system can also be good for your website needs. The adaptation of the templates is also included in the BASIC version (freeware) allows. The professional version can be created their own templates or installed new templates and online editing it.

So is said that are two licensing models for BelCal there. More information about the differences are under the menu Features to find.

Installation

Prerequisites:

For the installation of BROM BelCal you need a web server with PHP version 4.3 and a MySQL database from version 4.1.2. WARNING: The script was not tested in the PHP and MySQL versions 5! A fault can not be excluded.

New-Installation:

1. Unzip the downloaded file to a local folder.
2. Insert the access information for your MySQL database rightly.
3. Download all files and directories from the folder "belcal2" or the entire this folder via FTP into any directory on your server.
4. Run the script in shape "http://your.domain/belcal-folder" - the installation starts automatically.
5. Follow the instructions of the installation.
6. After successful completion of the installation the login window appears for the first login.

Note: Only with the PROFI version allows modules to be installed at any time. If you need the additional modules, they must be unpacked exist in the directory "modules" in the BASIC version before start installation. Read the install.txt file from the download directory "additional".

Upgrade from BelCal 1.x to BelCal 2.x (up to version 2.75 only)

The installation script is designed to upgrade the earlier version of BelCal possible. These are insert all calendar data and the relevant settings in the new version. Then follow these steps:

1. Download BelCal BROM 2 in the latest version and unzip the compressed files.
2. Back up all files from the old install, remove them but not from the server!
3. Upload via FTP the new version on your server in any directory.
4. Copy the directory "config" from the old installation into the new directory of BelCal. Pick up any of the write-protect the file to config.php.
5. Now start the assignment planner - the installation starts automatically. Follow the instructions in the installation script. Use a new table prefix or another database!
6. After the upgrade, see the admin area object with the name "upgraded object". Click on it and rename the object title and menu title according to your wishes.
   Subsequent to the objects, see the "Object Settings".

Update from version 2.x to a newer version from BROM BelCal

Run an update by the following:

1. Download the latest version from BROM BelCal and unpack the compressed file.
2. Overwrite all files and directories except "install", "config" and "objects" with the new version (If you have other files (templates) have changed, so you may also not overwrite)
3. Log in as Administrator, it will start automatically with the update dialogue for the new version (since version 2.46)
4. Select the item "Update version ..." -> Performing
5. Log in to safety again, because an update may be some features only after repeated login exist

Note: The dialog "update version ..." is only in the newer versions, where a table adjustment is required. If the item is not available, as are any changes after you upload the files updated. In the included install.txt file are always current explanations for the action.
